A graduate of the Cyprus Music Academy with a degree in piano; guitar; and music, Michalis won first prize in a song contest at the tender age of 15. Since then, the talented perfomer has achieved world-wide acclaim, with his first three albums reaching platinum status.
Most recently Michalis enjoyed a very successful collaboration with pop group, Onirama, and toured with them in a series of live performances in Spring this year. 2010 also saw Michalis release
Kolaz, his new album featuring cover songs of Michalis’s most admired Greek composers, including the number one summer hit
To kalokairi mou ('My summer').
Kolaz has turned four times platinum.
Overall, Michalis has released 11 albums, has won numerous awards including over 20
Arion Awards (the official Music Awards of Greece) and both the coveted ‘Singer of the Year’ and ‘Man of the Year’ titles in the
Johnnie Walker Man of the Year 2007 Awards, and his concerts continue to see out globally.
Michalis has performed at a number of prestigious events over the years, including when he represented Cyprus at the official European Union enlargement ceremony, which took place in Warsaw to mark the accession of ten new countries into the EU.
