It's official - 26 year old model Carla La Reserveé is FHM's Sexiest Women in SA. The curvaceous blonde topped the 2006 FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll. Over 188 000 votes were cast rocketing Durban-born La Reserveé, who placed at position 19 last year, past previous winner Lee-Ann Liebenberg, into the number one spot.
La Reserveé clinched the title over another South African blonde, Wonderbra model Lieschen Botes, who was a new entry in the second spot.
The sexiest international woman is American movie star Scarlett Johansson, up 83 positions and the poll's biggest climber to land at number three. Global winner Johansson, La Reserveé and Botes head up a top ten that is almost entirely blonde. The only brunette in the highest reaches of the poll is Liebenberg who was voted in at tenth spot.
Entertainment on the night included a band line-up of The Hellphones and Arno Carstens & the New Porn Band. DJs for the evening included popular spin-doctors Ryan Dent and Craig Massive.
In the final strait, local front runners included last year's brunette winner, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, and three blondes: ex-Miss South Africa Claudia Henkel; SA born supermodel Nicola Breytenbach, and FHM cover-girl Carla la Reservee. But it was a tight race until the last minute, and no one knew who the winner was going to be.
The full results of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006 poll, brought to you by AXE, will be published in a special bonus magazine supplement bagged free with the July issue of FHM – that’s going to be on sale from Wednesday, 24 May.
