Born on 26 September 1988 in Johannesburg, Vusiwe grew up in a musical family. Her parents are successful South African musicians. ‘Ihashi Elimhlophe’, meaning ‘White Horse’, is her father’s stage name and her mother performs as ‘Ebony’. Ihashi Elimhlophe is one of the best Maskandi musicians in South Africa.

In 1998 Vusiwe and her siblings formed the group, Amaponi (baby horses). The Amaponi released their first album in 1998 and have released five other albums since.

Vusiwe is an accomplished musician, television presenter, live performance artist and has plans to increase her portfolio into acting. She is a responsible young woman that has her destiny in her hands and excels in all that she does. She is part of the ‘Love life CBL team’, a group of celebrities that travel South Africa talking to young people about HIV and AIDS, this is charity work done free.
