A hidden immunity idol in the hands of actress Bonnie Henna, an alpha-male clash, and shifting alliances brought an end to Pillay’s island life at an explosive tribal council.

The events leading up to Pillay’s exit played out like a soap opera, with heated arguments, drama, emotional highs and lows and a shocking twist in the plot. And with the end credits rolling, one couldn’t help but wonder if there might be another snake in the grass. Was the so-called venomous villain perhaps just a pawn in the hands of other masterful players?

While Pillay left the game empty-handed, a gob-smacked Alison de Chazal, also from KZN, bought a snazzy Volvo V70 sports wagon for a mere 320 Maldivian Rufiyaa (approximately R175) at a mystery auction.

Survivor host Nico Panagio handed each contestant a pouch with 500 Rufiyaa, which the contestants could use to bid on mystery items. Alison expected to nab a delectable treat, such as those bagged by other bidders. The only other Survivor who received something other than food was Bonnie. She bought sealed parchment, which she was advised to open in private, given that it could give her a distinct advantage in the game. The sealed parchment contained a direct clue to the location of a buried hidden immunity idol.

Back at camp the relationship between the two alpha males, Hykie and Pillay, started to crumble with Bonnie telling her confidant, Hykie, that their alliance with Tejan was no longer sensible or needed.

The clash of the tribe’s two titans came to a head after Sean won the immunity challenge. Both Hykie, who was assured of Bonnie's support, and Pillay, who counted on Letshego’s loyalty, realised that they had to win the former Goma players over if they wanted to remain in the game.
