The
PPC Young Concrete Sculptor Awards, run in partnership with the Association of Arts Pretoria, has grown in stature since it began in 1992 and has become one of South Africa’s most prestigious art competitions. PPC Cement and the Association of Arts Pretoria have had a long and successful marriage with the
Young Concrete Sculptor Awards competition which is further demonstrated by the exceptional talent of the participating sculptors and the calibre of artworks entered year on year.

Since the inception of the competition an impressive number of the winning sculptors have gone on to become renowned and highly successful professional artists. PPC Cement and the Association of Arts Pretoria have combined to assemble the works of previous winners and runners-up for a special exhibition of their exceptional works.
An overwhelming number of them responded to the invitation and winners dating as far back as 1992 will be participating. In fact winners from all 20 years since the competition’s inception are represented - barring 1995 and 1998. A truly remarkable collection of talented South African sculptors and their works! This fine exhibition opens on 6 May.

This exhibition also marks the launch of the 2011
PPC Young Concrete Sculptor Awards competition. The exhibition will be opened by Paul Stuiver, Chief Executive Officer of PPC Cement, on Friday, 6 May at 18:30 for 19:00 in the Mackie Street art gallery of the Association of Arts Pretoria. The exhibition will end on 25 May. Kay Potts – professional sculptor and chairperson of the
