South African movie-goers are counting down the days to the 22 June release of Leon Schuster’s latest comedy romp Mad Buddies and, as the film’s release draws closer, fans will have the chance to not only see the hilarious film, but also get an exclusive chance to meet some of the cast.

From 15 June, Schuster and co-stars Kenneth Nkosi and Alfred Ntombela will hit the road for the Mad Buddies Roadshow – a five-city whirlwind tour to celebrate the release of Mad Buddies, stopping off at eMalahleni, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. In each city, cinemas will be showing pre-release screenings of the highly anticipated film event, preceded by a meet and greet with some of the cast.

Tickets are available to the public from the cinemas listed below.

Says Schuster, "Mad Buddies has been a work of passion for myself, the cast and crew. What better way to celebrate this film that took over three years to bring to life, than by sharing it with the South African public in such a personal way!"

In Mad Buddies, sworn enemies, Boetie (Schuster) and Beast, played by Kenneth Nkosi (Jerusalema, Tsotsi, White Wedding), are forced to embark on a road trip as unwitting subjects of a new TV reality show, devised by gorgeous TV producer Kelsey, played by Tanit Phoenix (Spud, Straight Outta Benoni). On camera, with the whole of South Africa in on the joke, the pair comes unstuck at every stage of this hilarious journey until they discover that they have been conned and join forces to exact revenge. Mad Buddies also stars long-time Schuster collaborator Alfred Ntombela as Mr Mda, the Minister of Tourism, is directed by Gray Hofmeyr and produced by Helena Spring.

Mad Buddies, released under the Touchstone Pictures banner, will release nationwide on Friday, 22 June 2012.
