“Kabelo wanted the video to be a celebration of Africa and everything that is African,” says Radebe.
This influenced the locations for the video, which was Mozambique; a country Radebe feels is representative of the texture, unexpected beauty and excitement that this continent offers.
The video was edited by young Deepend Post editor, Nick Gishen. Radebe chose Gishen for the edit, “as Nick could give the video a youthful edge”. Gishen has been mentored by fellow Deepend editor Marcelle Mouton for the last three years and is quickly becoming a sought after young editor.
Radebe says that online editor and colourist, Schalk Van Der Merwe from Splash FX, “was also a necessary key player to join the team in bringing the video to life. I knew that Schalk would compliment the aesthetic of the location Maputo through his colouring craft”.
