Delivering a powerful performance at the most recent Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts finale party held at Turbine Hall in 2014, Lamayne won the audience and the judges over with her fearless, original rapping and her clever fusion of music and dance.

Her 360-degree deal with Dream Team SA includes management, label services, PR, business affairs, booking management and publishing. “I've found a family. A place I truly belong. I guess it is true that you only reign supreme in the company of lions. New team but most importantly, a new family,” says Lamayne, on her signing to Dream Team SA.

"We are excited to welcome on board a supremely talented Hip Hop artist who we have no doubt will go on to become a household name in SA as she breaks ground for female rappers on the African continent,” says Refiloe Ramogase, director at Dream Team SA.

Lamayne was announced the Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts winner in December 2014, after a campaign that kicked off in August to provide a platform to countless aspiring musicians around the country. The grassroots level search has uncovered some of South Africa’s most inspiring talent. Upon winning the title, Lamayne said at the time, “Thank you so much to the Jack Daniel’s team and Scouts for this life-changing event. There are not many corporates giving back to the Hip Hop culture. Thank you for such a huge investment into youth culture. Ngiyabonga.”

Lamayne is on her way to the US for the Miami Music Conference, one of the most publicised annual music gatherings in the world – her prize for winning Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts. “We wish Gigi Lamayne all the best on her trip to Miami – may she be inspired to keep on creating her authentic sounds, thereby cementing a place on the SA female rapper map,” says Jack Daniel’s marketing manager (South Africa), Megan Macnab.
