“I’m super excited for this season, it’s bigger and better. The contestants are bringing their A game and the judges are much harder on the hopefuls. If you are a budding DJ or just a music lover it’s a show not to be missed,” says Thabethe.

1’s and 2’s
season two auditions took place all over South Africa and saw thousands of young, talented DJs and producers bringing their best, in the hopes of claiming the title of 1’s & 2’s ‘Master of Spin’ and a grand prize comprising of a complete professional production studio valued at R100 000 and an album deal due for local and international release.

“Last year we were all totally blown away by the quality of DJ’s and characters that emerged through the course of season one, which fast became South Africa’s favourite and most-viewed music reality series,” says the show’s producer, Jayson Faber. “Season two has already shown us that the standards of music production and DJ’ing have sky-rocketed over the past year. This season sees an even bigger contingent of heavyweight talent that will get Mzansi rocking even harder than they did in season one.”

The season two auditioning process, judged by DJ Sphectacular and DJ Naves has produced the resulted in the top 36 contenders. The two judges will be assisted by high-profile guest DJ’s in the 13-week long competition in search of a worthy season two ‘Master of Spin’ winner.

DJ Naves says: “Season two of 1's and 2's is almost under way but I must say the talent we have in this country is amazing and there will be some interesting sounds coming out. All in all, the standard of the show and the producers is much higher and as judges we are very proud to have been a part in exposing this talent.”
