The function will be attended by various international guests and South Africa's who’s who.

The awards will mark the second anniversary of the 24-hour TV news channel, Africa News Network (ANN7) on Friday, 21 August 2015. This follows the exceptional success of first SATY awards and gala event held in September last year.

In the second edition of the pioneering initiative, the channel will once again celebrate the extraordinary aspects of our beautiful country and its rich multi-cultural heritage.

The theme of the SATY awards this year is 'Unity in Diversity'.  The theme reflects the efforts of exceptional South Africans to unite us as a nation and a celebration of our diversity in pursuit of the ideals and dreams of Madiba and other struggle heroes.

The channel's leadership has resolved to make the second edition of the SATY 2015 awards an extravaganza to surpass all others. Last year's SATY awards and event garnered many accolades for its precision, providing complete information about the process of nomination and selection of the final winners.

The proposed award categories this year include entertainment, sport, business, entrepreneurship, spirit of humanity, youth and South African of the Year Award.

As a build up to the prestigious SATY awards ceremony, I am South African will air Mondays to Saturdays with a total of 83 episodes profiling South Africa's leading artists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, politicians and athletes as they share their unique stories with the rest of South Africa. The show will be hosted by model, TV presenter, actor, Masego 'Maps' Maponyane, starting on Monday, 20 July at 18:00.
