Talented South Africans will be showcasing their skills in hopes of attending the international Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) convention in Orlando in July 2016.
For over 17 years, the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) has been making dreams come true for youngsters around the world by providing them with a stage to showcase their talent. The organisation has launched numerous gifted and talented artists into the world of entertainment.
ARTS is a family owned and operated organisation, founded by international talent scout, Kim Meyers. It focuses on providing opportunities and adequate training through higher education. Over $250 000 in scholarships are offered each year to empower aspiring actors, models, singers and the like, with the knowledge needed to set up their careers.
Elsubie Verlinden, founder of Just You Model and Artist Management, in her crusade to open doors for young South Africans, teamed up with Kim Meyers to host the South African leg of the showcase.
In her capacity as regional director for ARTS in Africa, she has provided young South Africans with exposure to top educational outlets in the United States.
Each year Verlinden travels throughout South Africa to scout the best talent the country has to offer to attend the International ARTS Talent Showcase. Meyers then selects those who show great potential in their fields to attend the ARTS Convention in Florida, which is attended by managers, producers and casting agents from Asia, Europe and the US.
Auditions for this year’s showcase are complete, and the big event is scheduled for Friday, 2 October to Saturday, 3 October.
The selected few will get to rub shoulders with industry experts and scouts from around the world, including Kim Meyers herself. As per her clients’ requirements in the film and fashion industry, Meyers will then choose which contestants will travel with her overseas to attend the ARTS convention, in Orlando, Florida in July 2016.
