For the first time since its launch in 2005, M-Net’s popular daily hospital drama, Binnelanders, will be screened in more than one timeslot. Up until now, viewers could only watch the soap in its fixed timeslot on M-Net and kykNET on weekdays at 18:30. But as of Monday, 18 February, viewers who miss the 18:30 broadcast can tune into M-Net and kykNET at alternative times to catch all the drama and intrigue at the Binneland Clinic.

Jan du Plessis, M-Net’s Director of Channels says that this decision was prompted by an overwhelming volume of requests from viewers to create extra timeslots for Binnelanders. “In the past few weeks we were inundated with emails, phone calls and letters from Binnelanders fans who begged for repeats of the show after having missed certain episodes due to power failures. As we pride ourselves to always put the needs of subscribers first, we decided to accommodate these requests with immediate effect, and we trust that this decision will attract even more viewers to this top-quality programme.”
Binnelanders producer Elsje Stark of Stark Films, says the production team welcomes M-Net's decision. "Since it will undoubtedly alleviate our loyal viewers' frustration levels at missing out on episodes, we're all for it," says Stark.
As of Monday, 18 February, Binnelanders will be screened in its prime-time slot at 18:30, as well as the following times:

M-NET (with subtitles)

Mondays: 08:30 (Friday’s show)
Tuesdays: 08:30 (Monday’s show)
Wednesdays: 08:30 (Tuesday’s show)
Thursdays: 08:30 (Wednesday’s show)
Fridays: 08:30 (Thursday’s show)

kykNET (without subtitles)

Mondays: 22:00 (same day’s show)
Tuesdays: 22:00 (same day’s show)
Wednesdays: 22:00 (same day’s show)
Thursdays: 22:00 (same day’s show)
Fridays: 22:30 (same day’s show)

Viewers should take note, though, that due to the fact that the Rugby Super 14 competition will pre-empt some episodes of Binnelanders on M-Net during February and March, whenever there is a double-bill of the original broadcast, there will also be a double-bill repeat. This will correlate on kykNET as well.

Binnelanders started out as a weekly drama on M-Net and kykNET in 2005, but soon became a daily soap on the channels due to its popularity amongst viewers. It currently ranks within the top 10 shows on M-Net.
