SABC1 hosts Shakespeare in Mzansi

Starting from Tuesday, 11 March, in the 20:30 time-slot, SABC1 introduces Shakespeare in Mzansi.

Shakespeare in Mzansi is a generic title encompassing 5 drama series of 6 episodes each, namely, Entabeni, Izingane Zobaba, Jolile ka Kheza, Ugugu no Andile, and Death of a Queen. The mini-series is based on Shakespeare’s tragic stories such as Macbeth, King Lear, Julius Caesar, and Romeo and Juliet.

“Shakespeare in Mzansi epitomises SABC1’s drama strategy as it delivers on authenticity and realness which have become the pride of Mzansi leading television channel,” says Phuthi Moloto, the SABC1 Brand Manager who is responsible for the Drama portfolio.
