In partnership with the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), the new public service award rewards campaigns created for charitable organisations. Because public service entries are not eligible for a Loeries Grand Prix, the SANBS Public Service Award will recognise the work in this sector.

“At SANBS, we value the power of creative solutions to influence behaviour. In South Africa, less than 1% of people donate blood and we are often faced with critical blood shortages. We believe that changing behaviour is one of the most difficult tasks that marketers and agencies face," says Silungile Mlambo, senior marketing manager at SANBS.

Mlambo adds, "We decided to partner with the Loeries on this award because we believe such a feat should be celebrated.”

All public service or charity entries across all Loeries categories are automatically eligible for the SANBS Public Service Award. Once the Gold-winning work has been selected at the end of Judging Week, the Loeries chairperson, Suhana Gordhan, and one additional judge will select the winner of this special award - which will be presented at the final awards evening on Sunday, 20 August.

The extended entry deadline is Wednesday, 31 May. Loeries Creative Week Durban takes place from Monday, 14 August to Monday, 21 August.
