5 For Change has selected five beneficiaries within South Africa’s innovative social enterprises, and guests will be able to meet and contribute to the various causes on the night of the event – Ikhaya Le Langa, Numeric, Sunshine Cinema, Dine with Khayelitsha, and Community Keepers.
In addition, 5 For Change will be announcing the launch of its catalyst programme, which will provide ongoing mentorship and support for selected beneficiaries to advance and expand their critical work.
To date, 5 For Change has raised over R700 000 and generated over R30-million of PR value for 25 beneficiaries. "The event aims to increase its impact by hosting its largest event yet and raising record funds," says Adriaan Dippenaar, one of the organisation's co-founders.
"We are so proud of what 5 For Change has accomplished in the past five years and the amazing beneficiaries we have highlighted, as well as the guests, sponsors, and partners we have brought together. We see this year as an opportunity to step up how we engage in social change and encourage all of Cape Town to join us," adds co-founder, David Deetlefs.
Siv Ngesi will return as MC for the evening. The event also welcomes back The Kiffness, one of South Africa’s live electronic acts. Guests can also look forward to taking part in a luxury-item auction, winning a Best Dressed award, and participating in other opportunities to win prizes. The night will close with a set by a DJ – to be announced.
