One-eyed Jack has scooped two new wins this year, both within the urban youth segment.

"While entertainment is our niche, last year we worked hard at evolving from a company that promotes festivals and events on behalf of promoters, to working with brands that use festivals and events to build their brands," says Natasha Goosen, head of PR at One-eyed Jack.

"Remaining true to our roots while spearheading corporate growth isn’t easy, but we’ve succeeded and have already seen great progress this early on in 2019," she adds.

The Volkswagen Polo Vivo was the biggest-selling passenger vehicle in South Africa in 2018 in part due to the VW #VIVOnation Festival, a concept One-eyed Jack and Mushroom Productions created as part of a five-way pitch to launch the new vehicle in March 2018.

According to One-eyed Jack, throwing a festival to launch a new car was successful and led to Volkswagen South Africa appointing the agency to do it once again.

The 2019 instalment on Saturday, 6 April and Sunday, 7 April aims to be a weekend of music, food, friends, high octane and new experiences with a line-up that includes AKA, Sho Madjozi, Shane Eagle, Busiswa, DJ Maphorisa, Rouge, DJ Kent, Simmy, Sjava, Mlindo The Vocalist and DJ Zan-D.

TRACE has also contracted One-eyed Jack to help connect with its consumers; this time by creating hype for its Amapiano Superstar Producer campaign.

TRACE is giving Amapiano producers the opportunity to win a fully paid-for music video of their best track. The public will get to choose the final winner.

TRACE's goal is to give creative youth the opportunity to express themselves as fully as possible, and a platform for them to shine. Originating from Pretoria, Amapiano is a mix of deep house and gqom, blended with the jazzy, soulful sounds of a piano.
