"We are proud to be involved with Peninsula School Feeding Association ?— given the very similar values that both SASKO and PSFA have, which is caring for local communities through various initiatives at schools level," says Jackie Pillay, bread brand manager at SASKO.

"At Pioneer Foods, we work with various organisations across the country feeding children. This is what PSFA is all about too, as they understand that you cannot teach a hungry child," Pillay adds.

"Blisters for Bread is a family event, and SASKO is a part of the daily lives of many families in the Western Cape ?— be it sandwiches in lunchboxes, bread rolls at a braai or flour in birthday cakes," Pillay says.

"SASKO is often there during these key milestones in our lives. But we also understand that many families do not know where their next meal will come from, and we applaud PSFA for the work they do every day," adds Pillay.

"The walk will see families and communities coming together to walk 5km or 10km to raise funds for the Peninsula School Feeding Scheme," Pillay concludes.

The event includes two routes along the Sea Point Promenade: a 10km walk that starts at 7:30 and a 5km walk that starts at 8:00. Every person who enters will receive a medal.
