Leading up to Flip Flop Day, the public is encouraged to buy a sticker and wear their flip flops for the entire day on Friday, 12 February. To support this initiative, they can buy their sticker for R10 from any PNA or Tekkie Town store, in order to show their support for those fighting cancer.

"We are so excited for our second Flip Flop Day," says Taryn Seegers, communication coordinator of CHOC. "Flip Flops are such a wardrobe staple for most South Africans, and who isn't looking for an excuse to wear them?"

"Flip Flop Day is an opportunity to highlight the importance of the work that CHOC does in a light-hearted way, as well as raise some money to keep our young South African patients and their families supported through the challenging journey that they face," adds Seegers.

"A whopping R1.5-million was raised in 2020, with R330 000 of that coming from PNA alone. This assisted our efforts enormously and we are convinced that this year will be even more successful," Seegers says.

"The public is able to purchase Flip Flop Day stickers from PNA as well as Tekkie Town. We're also encouraging businesses to purchase stickers for their employees, and allow them to wear Flip Flops to work on the 12 February 2021 too," adds Seegers.

Herman Botha, group general manager of PNA, concludes, "Despite the shutdowns across the country, children are diagnosed with cancer daily in our country. And while fundraising events can't take place, PNA can certainly assist by selling the Flip Flop stickers in our stores. We encourage all our PNA customers to get behind this initiative and purchase a sticker or two or three."
