Smile Foundation, a non-profit organisation assisting children suffering from facial conditions, has announced that it has appointed a new leader on board. Kim Robertson Smith has been appointed the role of general manager as of Sunday, 1 August 2021.
With the full support of her dedicated team, the foundation says that it looks forward to the greatness that Smith will inspire.
The organisation says that Smith has been a team member of the Smile Foundation since its inception 21 years ago. The organisation adds that Smith has always been known for her never-give-up attitude and the invaluable positive impact she has made on the foundation.
Smile Foundation adds that inclusivity and the empowerment of others has always been the mainstay of Smith, who is determined to carry this into her new role of leadership.
Being a registered nurse and health care professional and having managerial experience in the medical sales and marketing arena, Smith will be managing, mentoring, organising, training and motivating people, which further supports her belief that solid teamwork will continually grow an organisation, adds the organisation.
Apart from the medical field, Smith's career spans across different areas of fundraising and outreach programmes for various organisations.
Co-founder and executive chairperson Marc Lubner says, "Having known Smith to be the compassionate, creative and driven leader that she is, there's no better fit for this role. Welcome Kim, Smile Foundation looks forward to transforming many more lives, under your leadership."
"I am deeply honoured and grateful to have been chosen as the general manager of the Smile Foundation. My aim is to continue, with the support of the wonderful Smile team, to see all our children's smiles," says Smith.
"My life's journey has always been to be involved with helping others and, in this position, I can continue to do what I love: helping children to become the 'hero' of their own story," concludes Smith.
