Media relations are vital for any PR strategy or campaign. Whether it is for launching something new or saving a brand from a snafu, PRs will turn to the media at some point. But why is that? Does the media have that much of an impact on public relations, or is it just out of habit?
All press is good press — or so I have heard in TV shows and movies. But I also remember the iconic Miranda Priestly line about minimising the press in The Devil Wears Prada.
So, which one is it?
Are PRs hoping to get any and all media coverage possible, or are they hoping to keep things under wraps?
