South Africa is currently faced with youth unemployment and this partnership marks a significant step in addressing and finding solutions to it by linking skilled graduates from Digify Africa's Digify PRO and Digify GPs programmes with employers in need of digital expertise, says the duo.

The small, medium and micro-sized enterprises (SMMEs) play a crucial role in job creation and grow the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), adds the duo.

The Hire-a-Grad initiative comes at a crucial time when many young South Africans are struggling to secure employment despite having marketable skills. Digify Africa and SAB Foundation say that their partnership enhances youth employment opportunities and gives businesses direct access to graduates skilled in digital marketing, strategy, social media management and other modern workforce essentials.

"We are excited to launch the Hire-a-Grad initiative in partnership with SAB Foundation," says Qhakaza Mohare, COO of Digify Africa. "As the youth organisation, we are doing anything possible to ensure that we create a meaningful bridge between our graduates and the employers who need their skills. In addition, young people have the opportunity to apply their training in real-world environments and businesses benefit from hiring talent that is up-to-date with the latest digital trends and technologies."

Digify Africa's Hire-a-Grad offers employers an opportunity to tap into a diverse pool of young, digital-savvy, graduates ready to contribute to a variety of industries. "The two programmes, Digify PRO and Digify GPs are producing graduates in fields such as digital marketing, data and content creation — competencies in high demand in today's digital economy," says Mohare.

SAB Foundation with a longstanding commitment to promoting youth development and employment in South Africa is continuing to do so with Digify Africa, says the duo.

"SAB Foundation is committed to empowering South African youth by supporting initiatives that not only tackle unemployment but also enable sustainable business growth," says Onthatile Ditshego, Programme Specialist at SAB Foundation.

Ditshego concludes, "The Hire-a-Grad initiative is an exciting opportunity to connect our network of small businesses with young digital professionals who bring fresh perspectives and skills to the table. We believe this collaboration will drive a meaningful impact for both the graduates and the SMMEs."
