A total of over 20 volunteers picked up all kinds of litter filled over 120 bags and cleaned an illegal dumping area which is visible to all passing Mooki Street, whether students, workers, stadium expectators, or residents in an effort towards a clean healthy environment around the two primary schools and two high schools - from Lufentse Girls High School to Orlando High School, says the Church.

The World Mission Society Church of God believes in the Biblical teaching "Love your neighbor as yourself" and "Be the salt and the light of the world," by carrying out various volunteer services such as blood donation, disaster relief and street up campaigns in 175 countries around the world, under the slogan, "With the Heart of Mother." The Church of God acts with the aim to solve practical problems worldwide through various environmental and forest clean-ups, biodiversity conservation, forest fire prevention and all sorts of campaigns in promoting environmental awareness to create a global forest ecosystem and combating climate change. The church of God works with government entities and communities, adds the Church.

Church of God member Lesego Letsholo who is a Soweto resident, said he hopes the clean-up helps to raise the awareness to the community in protecting the environment. "We hope that through this meaningful clean-up, we can raise awareness even in this area in taking care of our planet together for a better tomorrow. We aim to share the warmth and love of a Mother to all our neighbours and the world, especially those facing climate disasters and other hardships, it is also significant that we are cleaning around schools where the future generations of our city, country and the world are being educated, we are cleaning up to ensure that they envision a brighter future as well," he concludes.
