The awards honour individuals and teams who set new benchmarks in operational excellence, community engagement and bravery, aiming to reinforce SecureFire's commitment to protecting lives and serving communities nationwide, says the company.

 

This Year's Categories Include:

  • Flame of Leadership Award: Mzamo Mchunu.
  • Rookie of the Year Region: Damien Beech.
  • Team of the Year: Boksburg Station.
  • Community Hero Award: Pablo Molefe.
  • Bravery Award: Sifiso Masiteng.

Nominees undergo a multi-step selection process, with submissions evaluated by a panel of senior leaders based on criteria including leadership, innovation, problem-solving, dedication, alignment with SecureFire's values, measurable achievements and community impact, says the company.

A highlight of this year's ceremony is the appointment of Clint Hugo as New Chief Fire Officer, recognising him with an honorary award for outstanding leadership and vision. The awards also aim to celebrate the dedication of firefighters and impactful projects such as SecureFire's national rollout, further strengthened by partnerships with corporates including Auto & General Insurance and CIB, says the company.

On the same day as the awards, Fidelity SecureFire also launches South Africa's longest private fire ladder, a 32-metre hydraulic platform truck. CEOs Wahl Bartmann and former Springbok Captain John Smit conducts an aerial boardroom meeting above the N1, aiming to highlight the company's commitment to innovation, frontline readiness and customer service. The ladder aims to enhance SecureFire's ability to serve over 300 000 customers nationwide and to reinforce the company's position as a comprehensive South African private emergency response provider, concludes the company.
