Open ballots gave readers the opportunity to vote for their favourite hotspots in more than 100 different categories. This year, approximately 179 000 readers voted.

Grant Medcalf, General Manager of the Coca-Cola dome, attributes the phenomenal success of the venue to the loyalty and dedication of highly motivated staff members.

Medcalf says, “Exhibition organisers, concert promoters and event coordinators expect state-of-the art facilities. We are committed to providing every individual who visits this venue with the highest level of consistent service. Patrons’ safety and experience is a top priority for management and staff.”

The popular indoor events venue is fully equipped with state-of-the art facilities and is synonymous with hosting the best international and local concerts and events. The signature white dome has become one of Johannesburg’s most-recognised landmarks. It boasts an 11 000 square metre main arena, mezzanine level and private hospitality suites, hosting a total of 19 000 visitors at any given time.
Medcalf concludes, “The Coca-Cola dome is a highly flexible and easily accessible venue that provides ample parking, food court outlets and bars. These unique features have positioned it as the most popular entertainment space in Africa.”

Concert enthusiasts can look forward to seeing 30 Seconds to Mars performing at the Coca-Cola Dome in the near future, while the critically-celebrated international entertainment group, Cirque du Soleil, will perform its signature Saltimbanco production, for the first time ever in South Africa, at the Coca-Cola dome in March 2011.
