The Walt Disney Company Africa today announced that South African rugby legend, Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira, will front the second phase of Disney XD’s Aim High, the exciting new initiative designed to inspire a generation of kids to get the most out of life, try new things and be the best they can be. Disney XD’s Aim High will offer fans the chance to win a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience with inspirational mentors. The second phase of the campaign kicks off with South African international and Natal Sharks star, Tendai Mtawarira, award-winning photographer, Herman Verwey; and leading sports journalist, Carlos Amato.

Disney XD’s Aim High gives kids across the country the chance to win a series of mentorships in a different field to learn how to realise their true potential. Seeking inspiration from world class sportsmen and musicians, Disney XD’s Aim High gives kids everywhere the chance to do what they love and love what they do. Whatever the route, the important thing is to Aim High.

Kicking off the second phase of Disney XD’s Aim High is Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira. A key member of the South African national rugby team since 2008 and prop for Super Rugby team, the Sharks, Tendai Mtawarira is at the height of his profession. Tendai said: “Becoming a professional rugby player takes hard work, dedication and a lot of tough training but, above all, it’s been determination and the support of the fans and those around me that has propelled me to the top. Wearing the green and gold of the national team has been a dream come true. Disney XD’s Aim High allows me the chance to share my experiences with the next generation and hopefully in some small way, inspire them to reach for their dreams.”

To enter, fans simply need to visit the Disney XD Aim High microsite or go to MXit >Tradepost > Entertainment > Disney > Disney XD before 01 November, select which mentorship they want to apply for, answer a multiple-choice question and then tell us why they should be selected for this incredible opportunity to learn from a international rugby star, sports photographer and sports journalist. The winner will then get to spend an unforgettable day learning the tricks of the trade direct from their mentor and will receive a video camera to record the experience.
