Armed with a Bachelor of Corporate Communications, majoring in Corporate Communications, Sociology and Journalism, Mbatha has over a short period of time gained extensive PR experience working across some of the country’s most recognised brands while employed by previous PR agencies. He joined TheGrind PR from Total Exposure, where he worked as an account manager on Audi, EMI Music, BBC Worldwide Channels, Sony Pictures Television, Vodacom, Old Mutual Sponsorships, SABC2, MTN SAMA 19, Martini, Delicious Festival and Gallo Music.

Prior to this, he worked at Magna Carta Public Relations as account executive on Medscheme, ACSA, General Electric, FedEx, First Uranium, and Eskom.

After his studies, he started his career at Bright Spark Communications from 2008 to 2010, specialising in Media Relations, Corporate Communications Strategy and Event Management, before a brief spell as a publicist with Red Flag Design and Marketing in 2010.

TheGrind PR has appointed Mbatha to work on the MTN account, managing sponsorship PR for their various Lifestyle sponsorship properties.
