The five day long shoot captures the story of two unconnected families continuously crossing paths in their road trip from Johannesburg to Buffelsbaai, and finding their mutual connection along the way.
Tseliso Rangaka, executive creative director at O&M Cape Town mentions that when you think about Volkswagen you think about more than just a car “the brand has always told beautiful stories about who we are and where we are as a country in a moment in time, which is something very uniquely VW”.
Academy Films director, Kim Geldenhuys, said “VW are well-known for producing memorable adverts that resonate with people long after they are taken off air. We were incredibly excited to be back in the space of telling stories.”

The 45 second version of the
commercial will be launch between 09:00 and 09:30 on Wednesday, 15 June on SABC2.
