Woolworths has won the Best Marketing Campaign linked to Loyalty at the 2016 International Loyalty Magazine Awards ceremony, which took place in London, England on Tuesday, 21 June.
The Best Loyalty Programme Marketing Campaign of the Year was awarded to Woolworths WRewards for their “Are you with us” campaign that featured Grammy Award-winning musician, record producer and philanthropist, Pharrell Williams.
The campaign, which focussed on recognising and rewarding customers for their loyalty, enticed customers to join Woolworths’ sustainability journey and “make sustainability cool” for the next generation of South Africans. The campaign raised R400 000 for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, and established the “R100 Million for Education” drive, together with MySchool, MyVillage, and MyPlanet This campaign was conceptualised and delivered by Woolworths’ internal creative agency, demonstrating the creative talent inherent in the business.
Further to this, the MySchool, MyVillage, MyPlanet programme won Best Loyalty Programme of the year for Middle East and Africa for the MyPlanet Rhino campaign, which to date, has raised over R5 million for rhino conservation in South Africa. The programme also averaged approximately R200 000 per month in fund raising.
