‘Beeg, very Big Korn Bites’ banners; branded Gobo lighting, stamps as patrons enter the venue looking for a Friday night party; coasters and table standees; dispensing units on the bar between dancing girls; and DJ announcements promoting the brand throughout the night all form part of a good day’s work for the team at SAMPLEX.
SAMPLEX was put in charge of Big Korn Bite’s fantastic promotional campaign, which is currently drawing to a close. By the time of completion, this exciting activation will have reached 17 university campuses, 10 main night clubs and 850 pubs and bars nationally. It has certainly succeeded in meeting the brief by creating brand awareness and increased brand retention for Big Korn Bites.
Big Korn Bites is a ‘Beeg’ brand, and as such, SAMPLEX was challenged to create a fantastically ‘Beeg’ campaign to capture the imagination of the target market, aged 25-35. SAMPLEX rose to the challenge and presented the client with a campaign that involved taking over the venue with interesting, novel and attention-grabbing branding, all of which amounted to the generation of massive excitement about Big Korn Bites. The endeavor was recorded by SAMPLEX camera crews who handed out cards directing photographed people to a website where all the pictures were uploaded. To ensure national coverage, the campaign covered clubs in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban.
In addition to the physical branding aspect of the campaign, SAMPLEX held a variety of different and exciting activities which fitted in with the look and brand feel of Big Korn Bites. These activities included:
*Learning the Mexican Hat Dance;
*Smashing the piñatas; and
*Riding the Mexican bull.
This unforgettable Mexican experience meant the evenings were hugely successful, and will generate conversation about the Big Korn Bites brand for ages to come.
When it came to the university campus promotions, it was vital for SAMPLEX to get people moving and interested by generating a festive, exciting atmosphere around the brand. SAMPLEX achieved this by using gorgeous male and female promoters dressed in colourful Mexican clothing, situated at strategic spots around campus where interaction with students and sampling ensured brand recognition and remembrance.
