Handley did her undergraduate studies in neuropsychology at the University of Cape Town and went on to do her postgraduate in marketing at Red and Yellow. She then worked for Ogilvy & Mather, before going to San Francisco to study her postgraduate in account planning at MAS (Miami Ad School).
While she was there, Handley worked for a global sustainability communications firm called Sustainable Brands. Handley has worked on numerous brands including Nedbank, MTN, PEP, World Wildlife Fund, ABSA, and SAB, to name a few. She is currently working as a strategist at Grey while doing her honours part-time in political science.
