The brand has communicated that it "doesn't mind how you do it — just dream up a beat, lay down some lines and send it to iShuShu". Individuals can simply "take out their phone and hit record".
The jingles can be posted on Facebook and / or Instagram, or sent to iShuShu on WhatsApp (in the form of either a voice note or video) to 062 8966 822. The creator of the winning jingle will receive R10 000 and will be provided with an air ticket to Cape Town to have their jingle professionally recorded. Runner-ups will receive R2 500.
The jingles are required to be between 30 and 60 seconds long. The brand has requested that the entries are submitted before Friday, 3 April. Entries are open to South African residents only and terms and conditions apply.
"Since we launched last year, people have just gone crazy for iShuShu Chilli Oil," concludes Percy Thomson, national sales manager for iShuShu. "From Khayamandi to Gugulethu, we've been blown away by the response from hungry locals, chefs and the grill-masters fighting the flames at the shisanyama."
