Let's face it: We all need reasons to celebrate these days. In a recent blog on INMA.org, the excuse of a few milestones was used to fully inform members and the news industry of the significant achievements of INMA during this pandemic year.

Individuals are encouraged to read this blog here

The INMA has recently:
  • passed 15 000 members
  • continued to commemorate our 90th anniversary.
  • achieved quite the COVID reinvention story to tell.
In the context of nine decades and tens of thousands of members, this 2020 story is significant for because:
  • everything we do is now virtual
  • content is up by 60%
  • webinars are now a regular presence, up by 127% (4 850 people have registered for at least one in recent years)
  • reports have surged
  • we have stood up virtual masterclasses
  • we have launched two new awards programmes
  • we have gone even deeper into the subject of subscriptions
  • we have curated our deep content in our INMA Knows' initiative, and
  • we have sharply increased the value of your INMA membership.
Physical events will return one day. Yet, incredibly, INMA has shown that it can thrive without them. All of this is in the context of a profound first 90 years of INMA, in which we engaged with generations of news professionals, advanced the strategy of news media and globalised best practices unlike any press association serving the news industry.

I am so proud to share these achievements with you. We encourage you to read the full story here

On behalf of the INMA board of directors and the INMA team, thank you for your steadfast and enthusiastic support for the International News Media Association.
