The team from the Loeries Creative Week says that the grade 11 and 12 students listened while the LYC members provided a brief overview of the bursary opportunity, as well as an outline of what goes into the creative process.

Thereafter, examples of industry works were shown to the learners before a case study was presented for students to engage with. Hypothetical problems were identified from Nike, Nando's and BMW, and working alone or in groups, students had to use their creativity to conceptualise solutions.

Participating schools included:
  • Holy Cross High School
  • Livingstone High School
  • Chris Hani Secondary School
  • Woodlands Secondary School
  • Manzomthombo Secondary School, and
  • Apex Secondary School.
Students were then invited to present their ideas to their peers. The team says that it was exciting to see that interest was generated at the possibility of a career in the brand and communications industry and confirmed to the LYC that the youth of today has enormous potential.

The LYC says that they left inspired and eager to continue their journey making the advertising industry more accessible to all.
