According to the Athletics South Africa (ASA), running was at an all-time low due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with no physical events taking place in the last two years.

The Runified Breaking Barriers Race is a broadcast race that challenges male and female athletes to break the 50km IAU world record. This is held along the Marine Drive in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality in Gqeberha.

This event resulted in both male and female 50km IAU World Records being broken.

Levergy says that, having achieved the Agency of the Year Accolade in both 2019 and 2020, it has continued its performance at the awards through the partnership with Nedbank.

The partnership saw the production of a multi-faceted campaign that enabled the first competitive road running event in over two years to take place.

"It's fabulous to be able to reward and celebrate such inventiveness through these awards," says Heidi Brauer, Hollard's chief marketing officer.

Brauer concludes, "In these challenging times, such events provide support and inspiration for South Africa's diverse sporting communities as well as hope for, and even the anticipation of, a better future."
