The announcement of the summit follows four successful YouthX live events where young people were inspired and had their potential unlocked, says the event.
Hosted by presenter and actor Moshe Ndiki, the annual closing event on the
YouthX calendar is the hottest ticket in town and the ultimate youth festival, according to Nedbank.
This event is where Nedbank will be announcing the 2022 winners, who will each receive over R300 000 worth of prizes, including:
- R50 000 in cash
- a Huawei technology bundle, and
- a mentorship, which includes a learning and networking opportunity.
The four live events were hosted across South Africa focusing on:
- Arts and Culture
- Sports and Entertainment
- Social Good and Sustainability, and
- Tech and Innovation categories.
Candidates were tasked to be innovative and creative — and to develop ideas that could work in the real world and uplift their communities. Entries were judged with a percentile weighting based on the following:
- creativity (40%)
- innovation (40%), and
- community upliftment (20%).
The awards, which are part of the programme, were created to inspire the youth and allow them to win prizes and resources to fund their:
- business ideas
- existing businesses, or
- opportunities to further their careers.
Handing over the awards for each category will be the 2022
