Acclaimed creative director Melusi Mhlungu has announced his return to South Africa with the launch of a new creative agency. Having successfully collaborated with global brands, he has now decided to channel his passion and expertise into We Are Bizarre, to create exceptional and unforgettable creative endeavours for a diverse range of brands.
Melusi has worked for giant agencies such as FCB Africa and Ogilvy, even scooping a few Cannes Lion Awards for his work.
His work also includes two spots at the Super Bowl, America's most-watched television event. Mhlungu is set to unveil his creative agency, We Are Bizarre, which will focus on hard-to-ignore ideas.
Mhlungu has long been recognised as a trailblazer in advertising. With an unparalleled creative vision and an innate ability to connect with audiences, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of traditional advertising, delivering awe-inspiring campaigns that leave a lasting impact.
"We Are Bizarre represents a new era of creativity in South Africa," says Melusi Mhlungu, founder and creative director. "Our goal is to challenge conventions, we want to create a space where creatives can come up with ideas that don't wait for briefs from clients, ideas that don't just change the world but also the lives of the people around us. Ideas that outlive us and create a meaningful impact in the world, hard-to-ignore ideas, bizarre ideas."
The agency's first project is an impactful campaign called 'Jozi My Jozi'. With this ambitious project, Mhlungu and his team say that they will aim to breathe new life into the heart of Johannesburg, celebrating the city's vibrant spirit and cultural heritage.
Supported by partners such as Standard Bank, the first company to partner up with Bizarre on Jozi My Jozi. The project includes multiple collaborations and partners, which will be announced as the Jozi My Jozi movement launches.
"With 'Jozi My Jozi,' we aim to showcase the untapped potential of this beautiful city and provide a fresh perspective that will resonate with both locals and visitors. South Africa should look forward to this great project and what's to come with it," says Mhlungu.
We Are Bizarre boasts a team of seasoned female creative minds, including Ofentse Moremi, who serves as executive producer and Mbali Ndhlovu, who is a social media manager.
As We Are Bizarre says that it has prepared to embark on its inaugural journey, with industry insiders and clients already buzzing with anticipation.
The agency concludes that its visionary approach promises to break the mould, setting new standards for creativity and redefining what it means to captivate an audience.
