The international Ferrero Rocher® 'Light Up Your Christmas' campaign landed in Sandton, Johannesburg and illuminated the tallest tower in the country's commercial hub.

The Sandton event is a first for Ferrero Rocher® in South Africa and joins others worldwide, heralding the start of the holiday season. For the South African edition, the Ferrero Rocher® team picked The Leonardo in Sandown, which stands almost 228 metres high. They enrobed it in animations courtesy of the latest projection-mapping technology operated.

A Christie M 4K25 RGB unit projector was flown in from the United Kingdom for the event. It was the first time a projector like this has been used in South Africa and it is currently the only one in the country.

The unit was used in tandem with two Christie Boxer 4K 3 Chip True Life DLP UHD 30000 Ansi Lumens projectors to increase colour intensity. The digital artwork was displayed on the surface of the building, visible to onlookers for kilometres around.

To mark the occasion, a gathering of 50 South African celebrities, media and social media personalities toasted to a peaceful and happy festive season, cheering the lit-up building as it came to life.

Guests were dressed in 'a touch of gold' and included the likes of influential personalities like Mihlali Ndamase (mihlalii_n) and Lasizwe (@lasizwe). They were hosted by Ferrero Rocher® at a specially decorated viewing venue at the nearby Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel.
