Apple Business Connect is an integrated platform that allows users to list and manage business information on Apple Maps.

According to the duos, the integration allows clients to manage their ABC through the same central platform used to manage existing digital endpoints. The Apple iOS userbase shows steady growth, providing customers with an increasing audience to market to.

Businesses working with ABC gain access to a wider array of tools too, such as:

  • a larger platform to showcase product offerings
  • the ability to respond to critical business reviews, and
  • advertise deals with a full analytics suite.

The duo says that the location-based business and marketing space has been largely dominated by Google Business Profile and Meta. Apple's decision to launch ABC is a giant leap forward.

"Apple has always been a 'closed walled garden', so even being invited to integrate is an achievement on its own as only a handful of companies globally have been invited," says Neil Clarence, CEO of Location Bank.

The duo adds that the process of becoming integrated with Apple is one based firmly in data accuracy.

"Apple won't allow anything but perfect data on their platform so getting the integration done reaffirms what we've always believed — that our clients have the cleanest location data on the planet," adds Clarence.

Unlike established markets, local business owners have branches in outlying areas without street names or numbers, making the data integration far more challenging for a South African MarTech company.

The duo concludes that the integration saw tireless interaction with the Apple team to essentially provide a crash course in location data mining in a developing market.

Apple holds the second largest user market share in SA at 15.88% to Android users at 83.67% as of April.
