fibertime™ and South African hip-hop artist K.O have launched a campaign that allows people to vote for their community to receive fibertime™. The fibre solution is designed for townships, offering a pay-as-you-go, no-monthly-debit order alternative that removes barriers to high-speed Internet access.
K.O says he is excited to partner with the brand to drive meaningful change in the South African landscape.
"fibertime™ is going to be a game-changer for communities similar to the one that I come from, where Internet access is limited and expensive — I had to move to become what I am today. Now, fibertime™ gives these communities all access right in their own backyard," says K.O.
"I'm honoured to work with the team as they deliver Internet access for communities. Who knows? Maybe we can find the next big thing together," adds K.O.
The duo says getting involved is simple: participants can visit the fibertime™ website, find their township on the interactive map or dropdown list and cast as many votes as possible in a 30-second window. For more time, participants can share the campaign with a friend and unlock an extra 30 seconds of voting. Participants can return every day to keep boosting their community's chances of securing high-speed fibre.
The duo says the campaign runs from Monday, 14 April to Thursday, 17 July, allowing communities to come together and secure connectivity for their area.
Beyond the chance to light up their neighbourhood with fibertime™, participants could win a share of over R1-million in prizes, including R100 000 in cash, a full year of fibertime™ vouchers and more than 3 000 rewards like food, entertainment and shopping vouchers up for grabs throughout the campaign, say K.O and fibertime™.
fibertime™ Founder, Alan Knott-Craig, says, "We're excited to be collaborating with K.O, he's a great partner who understands the opportunities that access to unlimited world-class fibre Internet provides."
fibertime™ was created to make fast, reliable Internet more accessible, without the hassle of contracts or monthly bills. The current footprint includes 17 townships across South Africa, including Kayamandi, Alexandra and Motherwell. This campaign will expand access even further, opening the door for many more communities to experience the benefits of high-speed connectivity, concludes the duo.
