GWM South Africa has celebrated a major milestone with its first-ever FAM FEST, an event on Saturday, 29 November to mark its 18th anniversary.
This will be the largest customer event GWM has ever hosted in South Africa, aiming to bring together GWM owners, dealers, partners, and friends of the brand for a full day of celebration, innovation and family-centred experiences, reinforcing GWM's commitment to community, lifestyle and shared moments, says GWM.
A Festival for Every Age
FAM FEST isn't just for adults, it aims to be a full family adventure.. A dedicated kids' zone aims to delight young festivalgoers with colourful play areas, hands-on activities and immersive themed experiences, all crafted with the aim to spark curiosity, creativity and laughter. Meanwhile, the rest of the family can dive into games, challenges and shared moments that invite families to play together, laugh together and make memories that go beyond the event, adds GWM.
The FAM FEST's stage line-up is a tribute to South Africa's music. Among the highlights, rock "icon" Karen Zoid — widely celebrated for her guitar riffs and vocals — brings her energy that resonates across generations. Dynamic Amapiano star Kamo Mphela, known for her dance moves and chart-topping hits, lights up the stage with her infectious rhythm, says GWM.
Justin Zulu, whose voice has struck a chord with fans since his breakout, delivers melodies, while feel-good entertainer Jo Black, known for his uplifting songs in both English and Afrikaans, aims to bring joy and sing-along moments for every age. These are just some of the talents performing; more acts will be revealed soon, aiming to promise an unforgettable mix of live music, culture and warmth, adds GWM.
"The past 18 years have been defined by trust, community and shared experiences," says Conrad Groenewald, Chief Operations Officer at GWM South Africa. "FAM FEST is our way of thanking GWM customers, dealers and partners for their support. It reflects the family-focused spirit, innovation and lifestyle orientation that our brand embodies. We want guests to experience the excitement, technology and warmth of GWM while celebrating a milestone that belongs to everyone who has been part of our journey."
Opportunity for Fans Across the Country
While the event is invitation-only, GWM fans across South Africa can still join in the excitement through a series of competitions and social media activations leading up to FAM FEST. Consumers can participate in daily radio competitions on 947 and KFM, with a chance to win R2 000 each day and a grand prize of R18 000. Additionally, social media giveaways in collaboration with influencer partners offer more opportunities to experience the festival and engage with the GWM brand, says GWM.
"FAM Fest is just the beginning of a new chapter for GWM in South Africa. As we celebrate 18 incredible years, we're already looking ahead to the next 18," concludes Groenewald.
