Footwear brand, Bronx Ladies, recently launched a new marketing campaign dubbed ‘Because I Need Them’ to celebrate the South African woman’s love for shoes.
Phase one of the new marketing campaign rolled out during September, which includes prominent 18-metre billboards bearing the brands new slogan in Gauteng. This is the beginning of various other marketing iniatives which the brand will reveal during the coming months.

“The new slogan and marketing concept - 'Because I Need Them' – takes a humorous look at women’s obsession with shoes. The Bronx Ladies brand talks to the South African woman who has fun with her footwear and who looks for quality and style at an affordable price. The Bronx brand particularly during recessionary times offer stylish women high fashion whilst being price sensitive,” comments Bronx Ladies Brand Manager, Shane McEvoy.

McEvoy adds, “The clever creative that conveys a woman’s love for shoes has already peaked the interest of consumers in Johannesburg. We’ve received numerous excited calls and emails from women saying they love the tongue-in-cheek nature of the billboards.”

The billboards will span the Summer of 2009/2010 and Winter in 2010, and will feature key looks from the Bronx Ladies range.

The ‘Because I Need Them’ billboards can be seen in the following locations:
- Camping weekend
- M1 Southbound
- M1 at Corlett Drive on-ramp
- Crown City
