Prepare to experience the best of Italian style from 5 to 28 March, when Café Peroni embraces Bungalow, Camps Bay.

Pop-up bars are the latest new trend in Europe – trendy bars pop up for a limited time period, then close down, only to re-open somewhere else in a few weeks. Peroni introduced the first Café Peroni (pop up bar) to South Africa in 2008. This unique experience moves around the country, to bring the best of stylish Italy to South Africa. Café Peroni at Bungalow, Camps Bay, will be the fifth installment of this exclusive event, following successful runs in Nelson Mandela Square (Sandton); Greenpoint; Design Quarter (Fourways); and Plettenberg Bay.

Café Peroni at Bungalow takes place from 5 to 28 March, with the best of authentic Italian lifestyle, right here in Cape Town. For its opening weekend, Café Peroni celebrated Italian icons of style, with displays of Lamborghini cars; Vespas; and Ducatis. There were also live performances by artists such as CODA; Valvestate; and Tony Finger.

Italian cuisine is an integral part of Italian lifestyle, so the second weekend of Café Peroni will be dedicated to celebrating the very best of Italian cuisine with Craig Hounsom, the stylish Peroni Chef. Ensure that you’re at Café Peroni between 17:00 and 20:00 from 12 to 14 March, to sample some of the Peroni Chef’s authentic Italian Aperitivi (small snacks). Entertainment will be provided by Magic Carpet Ride; Craig de Sousa; Richard Marshall; and Peter Abrahams.

From 19 to 21 March, Café Peroni will feature the best in classic Italian cinema: the 1950s and 60s were the glory days of Italian cinema, when icons such as Sophia Loren; Rudolph Valentino; and Marcello Mastroianni graced the silver screen. Peroni pays homage to these great Italian actors and directors by screening classics such as La Dolce Vita; La Strada; and more contemporary classics like the original Italian Job. For the music lover, Tony Finger will be on the decks, as well as a laid-back performance from Magic Carpet Ride.

Italy is a nation known for its style and flair, so it is no wonder that some of the world’s best fashion designers are from Italy. Café Peroni continues from 26 to 28 March with Emporio Peroni as a theme, with designers like Fabiani; Armani; and various other Italian labels showcasing their style. Valvestate; Tony Finger; and others will be playing chilled-out lunchtime and sundowner sets.

Don't miss this opportunity to sample a taste of Italy right here in Cape Town, for a limited time only – make your way to the Bungalow from 5 March to 28 March, and experience La Dolce Vita with Strada Peroni.
