The caravan was created to introduce media; bloggers; and members of the public to the La Capra way of enjoying wine. Passers-by at its first stop in Wembley Square were surprised to see the caravan camped out for two days; complete with musicians; antique furniture and paintings; and other assorted curios.
Inside the caravan guests met Bridget Back (daughter of Fairview owner, Charles Back), who conducted the offbeat tastings. This out of the ordinary scene perfectly communicated the roguish charm and mysterious personality of the La Capra brand, which is already starting to attract attention in stores thanks to its eye-catching label.
“The family approach has always been to knock the stuffiness out of wine whilst keeping our obsession with making the best wine we can. La Capra is a boisterous young brand that we hope will take our wines to even more people across the world. The brand has started to take on a life of its own and we have plenty more fun planned to entice people further into its world. In fact it’s turning into more than a bit of a handful (which is a good thing),” said Bridget Back.
The La Capra range is built around single variety wines, showcasing quality examples of popular cultivars including Sauvignon Blanc; Viognier; Merlot; Shiraz; and Pinotage. The range is available in leading supermarkets and retailers nationwide, as well as the Fairview tasting room.
