Being seduced by a softly spoken single female with a French accent into eating chocolate might sound like a dream come true for some, but the fact that it is an animated female single KitKat finger does put a different spin onto it.

She starts off saying “I am hot and single. If you are looking for someone like me then call me ... or don’t.” The advert ends with her blowing a chocolate kiss and saying “have a little break, have a KitKat single.”
An in-store campaign is also taking place with point of purchase elements featuring an animated single male KitKat finger, who with raised eyebrows greets you with the words “I am new!”

“We do our best to engage consumers with communication that is relevant and memorable,” says Davina Wertheimer, JWT Johannesburg’s Business Unit Director, “and with this concept playing off the ‘singles’ format it makes it easier for us to tap into this psyche as we encourage consumers to take a little break with Nestlé KitKat.”
“Because the advert originated from Canada we kept the French accent, which gives it an element of finesse. Another television advert featuring the male KitKat character, also with a French accent, is also being aired.”

Will these two characters eventually hook up? “Time will tell,” is all Davina will say.
