Tuks FM and has since been at the forefront of providing talent to the commercial broadcasting industry. Today, the world of
Tuks FM has expanded far beyond the borders of campus radio and has the inherent power to influence buying decisions of the young consumer.
Tuks FM is a community radio station, licensed in terms of the relevant legislation for community broadcasters and is also a greater Tshwane youth station, targeting a universal cosmopolitan audience comprising people under the age of 35 irrespective of race, sex, culture or creed.
Tuks FM has an eclectic mix of music, informative and talk-radio with content that is pertinent to a target audience. The broadcasting footprint of
Tuks FM reaches and approximate 100km radius within Gauteng, ranging from Midrand in the South extending through Tshwane whilst touching the Mpumalanga and North West borders as well.
Tuks FM has a listenership of 41 000 (average) and an audience loyalty of 62% listening to Tuks FM exclusively.
Being a community radio not only defines the station’s coverage, but also mandates it with special social and community elements. Our listeners are sophisticated and know what they want. It strives to understand their needs which range from music, information, entertainment and having fun with radio.
Tuks FM compliments the University of Pretoria’s agenda for Community Outreach by hosting local artists and providing controlled music entertainment events for the creative upliftment of society, supported by a dynamic and enthusiastic attitude.
Tuks FM’s community outreach often includes competitors for the school-going and student segments of the target market. These events are hosted to create exposure and enable access to the world of media, broadcasting and entertainment.

Tuks FM’s Bang-Bang Breakfast Show (Rob Forbes) is nominated at the 2
nd MTN Radio Awards.
