“The tone of the launch was in line with the nature of the development,” explains Andra Mostert, account director at Fresh BA.
“We conceptualised the ‘leave your heart at Kogelberg’ strap line playing on the concept of Kogelberg lying in the heart of the Cape Floral region, and being a place so special that visitors will want to leave their hearts behind. It also reflects the ‘leave no trace’ principles of treading lightly in protected areas.”
“The launch itself, conceptualised and managed by Fresh BA, was a great success with more than 35 media, ranging from news media to tourism, lifestyle, environmental and construction media, in attendance. Coverage, so far, has been excellent.”
The invitations used were totally eco-friendly, printed with vegetable ink on recycled paper embedded with fynbos seeds and accompanied by a Yellowwood sapling desk drop. The invitation campaign consisted of a save-the-date email notice followed by a “look out for an important delivery” email, the invitation was then hand delivered and followed up with a meeting request.
“Journalists responded excellently,” says Mostert. “RSVP follow ups were unnecessary, in fact we had numerous invitation requests.”
Guests received sun hats on arrival at the launch and picnic lunches were served in recycled packaging in a recycled shopping bag along with a 'I left my heart in Kogelberg Nature Reserve' branded picnic blanket.
The Oudebosch cabins have already received international recognition for their sustainability features, some of which include an eco-pool, roof gardens, solar power and grey water use.

Lucinda Witten, CapeNature’s marketing manager, said, “I have never worked with an agency as efficient and supportive as Fresh BA, the commitment to CapeNature and the marketing team is commendable. The team at Fresh is not only professional but they live my organisation’s brand as if it were their own. I would like to thank the entire team for assisting CapeNature in launching a fantastic project.”
Fresh BA was launched nearly three years ago by Natasha Mc Clymont and Sue Bulloch, who have a combined 35 years in the marketing, eventing and advertising industry. The agency has grown from two women to a full fleet of staff offering everything from advertising, design and marketing to brand activation and event management.
Major clients like Capitec Bank, Sure Travel, CapeNature and Three Ships Whiskey, are testament to the fact that a small agency can offer premium, personalised service.
