Chillibush Communications didn’t have to look far for inspiration when preparing a new campaign for Deloitte South Africa. The diverse and multi-talented people of the firm triggered a campaign that is clear and concise in its message – 'Unique people, inspired results.'
The campaign invites viewers to appreciate the richness and diversity of the Deloitte team, highlighting the more than 3 500 unique and dedicated problem solvers with sharp minds and radical thinking working to provide business solutions to clients in South Africa and Africa.
Deloitte, a leading player in the assurance and audit segment, has a broad client offering which ranges from tax to risk advisory, from strategy to technology, from human capital to forensics. “This campaign is about the unique and passionate people we employ and how this translates into the depth and breadth of services we offer to our clients,” says Stuart Tudor-Owen, head of brand at Deloitte. “We’re a genuinely diverse bunch of professionals and passionate about what we do. The campaign fits clearly with our view that passionate people deliver inspired results.”
“We worked to showcase the diverse talent of Deloitte’s staff reflected in activities and interests outside of their working lives – interests which invariably enable them to deliver more inspired solutions at work,” says Dale Hefer, managing director of Chillibush. “With over 4 600 degrees and diplomas, a team including engineers, chartered accountants, lawyers, philosophers, strategists, bikers, hikers, travellers, sports fanatics, artists, teachers and musicians are using their breadth of skills, global insights and deep experience to deliver inspired results.”
In a few simple interviews, the marketing team had unearthed a number of interesting staff from all levels of the firm to represent the range of unique people working at Deloitte. The seven featured staff in phase one include Thiru Pillay, Deloitte director and head of the Consulting division, who is a super biker in his spare time; Pieter du Preez, a member of the Actuarial and Insurance Solutions team and a paralympic athlete at London 2012; Odette Richard in the Financial Institutions Services team who is an ex-Olympic rhythmic gymnast; and Lee Swan, a manager in the Consulting area who was the first African woman to win the Polar Race, in 2011.
Deloitte’s musical cast comprises Navesh Ragoonanthun from the firm’s Strategy practice who is a talented saxophonist; tax specialist Billy Joubert, a pianist and composer; as well as Zwelakhe Gumede, a trainee accountant and marimba master.
The campaign was launched in mainstream media on Wednesday, 22 August. There will be additional executions featuring more of Deloitte people following the initial launch.
