Image recognition Augmented Reality (AR), in the match day programme, was successfully launched for the recent match against Italy in Durban. Once the user has downloaded the App, they simply search the match day programme for pages that display the BAM! AR logo on them. They then hold their device over the page and additional content is activated on their phone.

“We are able to stream interviews, videos and competition pages through the use of the image recognition component of the App. We can also add additional functions such as, click to call; click to be directed to the Springbok Facebook page as well as their Twitter page. This has made the supporter and sponsor experience much more exciting," says former Springbok player and BAM! AR co-founder, James Small.

The BAM! AR App is available on iOS and certain Android phones (including iPads and tablets). The App can be downloaded by SMSing ‘Android’ or ‘iOS’ (depending on one's handset type) to 32026. One will then receive a response with an embedded link that will direct one to the relevant page to download the App. Alternatively one can search for BAM! AR via iTunes or the play store.
