Tavcor were looking for expansion four years ago but had to consider taking on a brand that would meet the expectations of what Tavcor customers were used to. The reliability of the Suzuki product convinced the Tavcor board of directors to invest strategically in the long term, as they believed the brand would earn their space in the South African passenger car market.

The Dealership was opened in February 2009 and up until October, 1000 new cars have been sold. Volkswagen AG in Germany also invested in the Suzuki brand about two years ago and still owns a 20% shareholding in Suzuki worldwide today.

Clive Taverner, Dealer principal of Tavcor Suzuki said, “Tavcor have been Volkswagen dealers in Port Elizabeth since 1955, and dedicated Audi dealers, for the last 30 years as well, so associating itself with a new brand was a decision taken with extreme care and diligence.” The Tavcor Suzuki Dealership is situated in Greenacres, Port Elizabeth near the Greenacres hospital and delivers some of the highest levels of Suzuki customer service in South Africa, in both sales and workshop service levels.
