Hooters SA chief operating officer, Gordon Jestin, is thrilled to announce the opening of the brand new Pretoria branch in December.
The Pretoria restaurant, which is currently under construction, is situated in the Willows Shopping Centre in affluent Pretoria East. “We’re confident there’s a big demand for a Hooters Restaurant here and the Hooters experience is something completely different that people in the area will definitely be drawn to,” said Jestin.
Hooters restaurants are well known for their unique interior and exterior designs, however, the 'new look' Pretoria Hooters will have less pine, darker wooden finishes, less pictures and memorabilia with a brighter open entrance and central bar incorporating a verandah and inside. This is in accordance with the new look being rolled out in the US Hooters branches. The restaurant is 715 square metres including a verandah and has 230 seats. The restaurant is already 70% complete putting it on schedule for the building to be completed by Saturday, 30 November, with the finishing touches being done before the restaurant opens in early December.
Hooters sourced all its building material locally, while obtaining the services of local Pretoria contractors for building, plumbing, electrical, and so on. All light fittings, air conditioning and extraction units are geared towards being energy saving and efficient. The main focus for the Hooters management team now is on hiring and training staff, meeting with new local suppliers and preparing for the opening launch event.
The much anticipated launch will include the attendance of local celebrities, media, government and corporate guests from the Pretoria area along with cherised regulars who currently frequent the Joburg stores. The new restaurant will be opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony to be conducted by Jestin and other dignitaries from the US and Pretoria regions.
